This journal page started with some DecoArt white gesso to cover the glossy pages in my altered book art journal. I applied some DecoArt Media Line black gesso with an ArtistCellar stencil, this black gesso would become a resist for the misters I planned on using. I sprayed the pages with various colors of the Media Line misters, in some areas I spritzed some water and let them run down the page or I spread them with a sponge brush to cover more area. The misters have an even spray and incredibly vibrant color.
#createeveryday is the hash tag I use on all my twitter posts and it’s a mantra I try to live by.
I then tried the Media Line Crackle Paint with a script stencil. I applied it with a stencil brush and then made sure to really clean both the brush and stencil . Once the crackle paint was dry and “cracked” I applied Media Line Antiquing Paint in Carbon Black. Let that dry then wiped off with a baby wipe. It gave a great vintage antique look to the script. I applied the crackle paint a little too thick in some areas, so I’ll have to remember to use a thinner layer for the right effect. The Antiquing paint comes in different shades (Patina Green, Titanium White, and Medium Grey).
I applied some smaller stencils throughout using Media Line Hansa Yellow Medium and Quinacridone Red. For some more layering I opened up the misters and splattered them onto the pages.
I don’t think I’m done with this page yet, but for now I’m really happy with it and how all the products and colors came together.
Thanks so much for visiting with me today. I truly appreciate each and every one of you.
