As an artist, I’m always wanting the newest paint colors, gel mediums, or upgrade to better brushes and pencils. It’s kind of like my teenager always wants the new iphone, well I want to upgrade my passion also. So, I’ve put together my artist’s Christmas wish list and hoping that some of my family or friends will read this post and get some hints! 🙂
When I first started doing my art full-time I purchased the best that I could afford at the time with the intention to upgrade to newer and better later. On many items I have done that, i.e. paints, brushes, printer, lighting. But, there always seems to be something newer and better, right?
Disclaimer, I am an Amazon Affiliate and any purchases through these links will result in a small commission to support my blog.
Well, these items are from my actual “wish list” on Amazon that seems to grow on a daily basis. Like any lists, it helps keep things in focus and gives me something to work for.
CANON PIXMA iX6820 Wireless Business Printer – I already have a 4-in-one HP Officejet Pro for about a year now and works great for scanning, everyday printing and smaller prints. But, I’ve wanted to upgrade to a printer that has a wider format and would make it possible for me to print up to 13″ x 19″ size. That would save me money in the long run instead of having a production lab do them. *I just purchased this printer and will be writing a review on it soon!
Mabef French Sketch Box Easel – Mabef Easels are the best quality and most functional easels around. I currently have a table top easel from Michael’s and it functions great. I’m doing more larger canvases and really need a standing easel that will hold some supplies also.
- Professional Synthetic Watercolor Brushes – I would love to do some more watercolor art and the brushes I have now (all 5 of them!) could definitely do with an upgrade. This set of synthetic (I don’t think I could buy natural hair ones) brushes carry just enough liquid to give a smooth look when it goes on paper.
Staedtler Karat Aquarell Premium Watercolor Pencils – This set of 24 pencils would be a perfect investment of this great brand. They have a reputation of going on smooth and then blending evenly when activated with water.
Pentel Graph Gear 1000 Mechanical Drafting Pencil – I’ve been wanting to try this mechanical pencil to get a finer and softer line when I’m sketching. This is the perfect size and price for a stocking stuffer!
Copic Marker 12-Piece Sketch Basic Set – I don’t have any Copic Markers, to be honest they’re a little pricey. But, this basic set is a great way to get started. I’ve seen so many videos and heard so many other artists really speak wonders about these markers. They look so smooth going on, especially when doing faces.
- Nikon D3300 DSLR camera – I normally use my Android phone or point and shoot Canon camera, for my blog and shop pictures. They work fine and I can edit them in PicMonkey to make them even better. But, this coming year I really want to take my pictures to the next level and have the right equipment to do that. As you probably know DSLR cameras can be very expensive. I recently found a certified refurbished Nikon that is almost 50% off the regular price! Amazon offers many certified refurbished items at a fraction of the cost and with a 90 day warranty.
You see, it’s not a very long list, is it? I think I will probably buy one or two for myself, but it’s always nice to drop some hints. 🙂
Are there some art goodies that you’re wanting this Christmas? Tell me about them in the comments.
Thanks so much friends for visiting and for your support as always!
