Introducing my Autumn Hues Girl original canvas! Lately my mind has been on the colors of Autumn and the warm hues that the season brings. This original canvas was created to try and capture them and still have some whimsy with a girl peeking through the warm hues.
I started with the first layer on this 18″ x 24″ x 1″ canvas using Americana acrylics in hues of oranges, taupes and greens.
The next layer was created with The Crafter’s Workshop stencils, spray inks, modeling paste and more acrylic paint. The patterns were added randomly, I really didn’t want to think it out too much and follow my intuition more.
I then started to draw out my girl and vine using Americana acrylic paints and media line fluid acrylics.
I gave her a flowers and vine hair to really make her a part of the Autumn foliage. I also outlined the face and some of the features with Burnt Umber color pencil.
The vine was outlined with black china pencil and glazed acrylic paint to give it dimension.
Here’s a little peek into my studio and work table as I was finishing up this canvas. You can see the second canvas waiting it’s turn on the left.
This vibrant canvas was listed in my shop less than a few hours when it sold and is on it’s way to Tennessee! But, if you love it and would like something similar, please contact me here and let me know what you would like. Or, you can take a look at these similar pieces, Butterfly in the Garden, and Into the Woods.
Thanks so much for visiting friends!
