One of my favorite decorating techniques is creating gallery walls that tell a story. I have several vignettes around my home that are all different, but each one has a theme and look that are unique. You can easily create them with the artwork and collectibles that you already have also. I’ve compiled some truly awesome gallery walls to inspire you and I’m also sharing some from my own home.
It doesn’t have to be expensive to create an impressive gallery wall. This homeowner framed botanical pictures from a book and only spent $100! It’s a classic theme of botanicals and fits in perfectly with the rest of the room.
If you have a collection of trays or plates, a gallery wall is a fabulous way of displaying them.
Mirrors are a popular item to place on a wall, but what about a collection of them? These mirrors are all different in size and style, but it works perfectly as a collection.
Eclectic is probably the theme of this next wall. Prints, oil canvases, new and old are placed on this wall to show the homeowners love of art. The spacing of 2″ – 4″ is appropriate for this collection.
Floral colors is the theme on this gallery wall of canvases.
This large framed canvas is surrounded by prints of the same theme and artist. This really fills up the wall nicely, as opposed to having just the one large frame.
This wall is in my front entry and I designed it around the black and white pictures of my children taken when they were little. I painted all of the frames with black chalky finish paint and decoupaged the letters of our names with themed paper. Musical paper for my daughter, baseball for my son and Damask style for me.
Even in my bedroom I’ve created an eclectic collection of some of my favorites plates with flowers, a framed floral chenil piece, a decoupaged mirror I created and a couple of crosses. The theme here is flowers, all different items, but connected by the theme of flowers.
I hope this inspires you to create your own awsome gallery wall. Remember to start with what you love and the theme will come to you.
