I wanted to give it a night look, but not too dark that you could not see the wood grain. So I mixed in some glazing medium with Midnite Blue acrylic paint, both from Americana paint.
I added some snow with Light Buttermilk paint.
I added some snowflakes first with Uniball Signo white pen, but I wanted some more texture to it, so I embossed some white powder snowflakes. The wood did fine under the heat gun.
The snowman is made with vintage music sheets with some glazed acrylic paint to tone it down. The scarf, hat and twig arms are created with acrylic paint. He’s then outlined with charcoal pencil.
Finished it off with some details to the snowman and trees, and then sealed it with a matte varnish. I plan on adding a saw tooth hook on the back to hang at Christmas time.I’m really happy with how it turned out and I thinking now of doing a Holiday line on some of these wood canvases. What do you think? Yes or no?
