Coming Full Circle

Last night I participated for the first time in the Chandler Art Walk in historic downtown Chandler.  This is a local event that brings together local artists every third Friday of the month for an evening of creativity and supporting local businesses.  I had never participated before because I don’t have lighting to do an evening event, but this time they brought it inside the historic Crowne Plaza San Marcos Resort in their beautiful ballroom.  Which was a brilliant way to get out of the Arizona Summer heat and no need for a lighting set up.

Now the reason I named this post “Coming Full Circle”, is because that’s really how this evening felt for me.  Back in 2001 to 2005 I was the Human Resources Director for the resort.  I loved working in a historic hotel and downtown setting, and being a part of a community.  And tonight I’m here as an artist….

I also was neighbor to a lovely lady named Melissa from Glass Designs by MC.  She creates some of the most beautiful pieces of fuzed glass jewelry.  Check out her Etsy shop for all her creations.

I also met Nuru Sarela, she is an emerging artist that is looking to start selling her paintings and we talked for a while about taking that first step of turning your hobby into a business.  Check out her facebook page and see how talented she is.

I had such a great time and met some wonderful people. I’m looking forward to the Fall season and participating in this show again.  As for the San Marcos Resort, it was as beautiful and inviting as I remember it and will always have a special place in my heart.

Thank you friends for visiting and giving some support to these artists that I’ve shared with you.

Blessings,
