Hello friends! Today I’m sharing with you my Face Your Fears art journal page that was actually done in 2 steps. The background I had already created in the Art Journaling 101 workshop I taught last week. So it was a perfect page for the girl I wanted to create.
I applied gesso to the area I wanted my girl to go. You can see in the background I used lots of Americana Acrylics, Media Line misters, Crafters Workshop Mini Chevron, DecoArt Media Honeycomb, some bubble wrap with paint and caps with paint.
As a guide, I used ArtistCellar’s Jane Davenport Jane Girl stencil in Straight. I love these stencils in helping me get started learning how to draw faces. I use them as a base and then add my own style to her.
I used Media Line Fluid Acrylics for the base of the face and then added more shading and details with my Faber-Castell gel sticks.
I gave her face and hair some more detail with a Sharpie China Marker and added a butterfly and bird printable. The words Face Your Fear have been really on my mind lately. I’m working on new art work, putting my name and art out into the world more with my business, preparing for a move to another state. All of those things are fearful and fears that I need to face.
I’m very pleased with how she turned out and I was happy that I used the page from my workshop, so use those background pages you have and create something today.
Thanks for visiting and make sure you come back soon!
