Every month I create a special journal page that I use for my free desktop calendar. It’s a free downloadable calendar that I send to all my Friends and Collectors. The February Calendar Page has a heart theme of course. What else could it possibly be for the month we celebrate St. Valentine!
This page started out as a page I had applied left over paint and crackle paste. I had been waiting to do something with it and today was the day.
Supplies I used on this page…
- Crackle Paste
- Americana Acrylic paints – Gooseberry Pink, Cashmere Beige, Wasabi Green, Pansy Lavender, Cinnamon Drop
- Media Line Antiquing Cream – Titanium White
- Fudeball Pen
- Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen
I gave the page a soft background with a very wet brush and Gooseberry Pink & Cashmere Beige. My new favorite color is Cinnamon Drop, so vibrant, not too pink and not too red. It really stands out in the hearts from the Complicated hearts stencil.
The crackle paste was highlighted more with the white antiquing cream, it gets in all the little cracks. I used my fudeball pen to give the hearts a more whimsical and sketchy look. The dangling hearts from Tamara LaPorte’s Hearts and Stars stencil has always been one of my favorites.
This page is finished with some whimsical scroll type font for the calendar. I’ve also now made this calendar available for iphone screen download. To get both of these simply sign up for my Friends and Collectors list below.
Thanks so much for visiting today! Remember to come back soon!
