Recently I’ve been very busy filling wholesale orders that include mounted prints. So, I thought I would give you a little peak into my process of creating them. I make each one myself, I don’t have a team or manufacturer that makes them for me. I do order the MDF board from Dick Blick Art Supplies, but I print the art print myself.
I adhere them to the board using Yes acid free Paste by spreading it on the board using a palette knife. The print is laid on the board and I use a brayer to press it on. I let it sit for 4-6 hours with a weight on top to make sure it adheres with no bubbles.
Once they are dry, I trim the edges with an exacto knife and then paint them with DecoArt’s Chalky Finish paint in black or white.
The final step is applying 2 layers of DecoArt’s DuraClear Soft Touch Varnish. This gives it a soft matted look and protects the print.
All of the prints are stamped and signed by me on the back. So, it’s as close to getting one of my original pieces as possible.
