Lantern Collection

One of my favorite collections that I have is a small collection of tea light lanterns.  They range in colors, sizes, materials and overall look.  The one thing they do have in common is that they are all thrift store rescues.

I move them around the house regularly and use them for decorating of every season.  Here you can see two being used for Autumn and Thanksgiving decor last year.
I love this large one with the cut glass.  It matches the candle holder I have and it has a real Moroccan look to it.  I plan on using it for Christmas display this year.
This wood lantern is actually an oil burning lamp.  I repainted it white because of the oil soot.  It’s now displayed on my dining room table as part of my Autumn decor (stay tuned for a post on that).

During the summer months I usually display some of them on top of my china hutch.

It’s a small collection, but I’m always on the look out for more lanterns.  You just never know when you will find one.  Do you have a small collection you’re trying to grow?  Go to my facebook page and share some pictures with me there.
Blessings,

Carmen, I love all of the lovely vignettes with your lantern collection…they are so pretty! I love lanterns too and have quite a few…even one from the railroad. They make such a great addition to the fall decor!

Lanterns are becoming an addiction for me. When do you know that you have enough?! This weekend I saw some very big ones where they had been filled with small items…oh oh… now I need a BIG lantern.

Like so many others above, I have a bit of a lantern collection too. Recently, I found a very large lantern on clearance. I was just working on decorating it with fall ‘foliage’. Thanks for sharing your lamps with us.

Carmen, lanterns are so universal. I use mine for all occasions as well as for everyday décor. Just add a seasonal bow and a little accent and voila so, so fun! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
    hugs,
