Lotus Flower Girl Original Canvas

Lately I’ve been coming across lots of Lotus flowers in mixed media and I really wanted to combine that lovely flower with one of my girls.  My latest creation is a girl set in a meadow setting with lots of flowers around her.

I started with an acrylic paints background on this 14″ x 18″ gallery wrapped canvas.  I used DecoArt’s Americana Acrylicscan and I wanted to create a pond or meadow look to this piece.

It’s starting to come together now with Canvas Corps script tissue paper, and the water scene of flowers and plants created with The Crafter’s Workshop Stencils.  I sketched in where I wanted my Lotus flowers to be and the girl is looking over her shoulder.

I used the same color hues for her hair almost like she’s a flower herself.  The script stencil was perfect for some modeling paste and acrylic paint.

The layers of paint, misters and modeling paste give the piece a dimensional look.

I’m really please with how she came out.  This is probably my favorite piece in the Whimsical Girl Art Collection.
