Mail Art

Today I was in the studio creating some lovely mail art that I will be sending out soon. Usually I will only stamp or doodle on envelopes, but this time I decided to use my Gelli Plate to create some incredible patterns and backgrounds.

This 9″ x 12″ envelope made a wonderful canvas.  I used Americana acrylics and Media Line fluid acrylics on all the envelopes and DecoArt 12″ x 12″ Oopsy Daisy stencil that has some great large flowers.

I also worked on some standard size envelopes with Dylusions Letter stencil, TCW Harlequin stencil and Artistcellar stencilsmail art envelopes, gelli plate prints

Time to clean up now!  I love getting messy like this!

These are so much fun to make and send.  Hope you will give them a try.  Thanks so much for visiting with me today!

I love this! I have started doing a bit of art journalling and read about some mail art… one group of women I belong to calls it joy mail or magic mail. And it truly is a bit of magic in the mail!! I hope to send some out to friends soon. Thanks for the inspiration. Have a great week!

Hmmm…I’m a little unclear about what mail art is…is it decorating the envelope?
