Here is the May art journal page and I will be using it as my desktop wallpaper calendar. The months are whizzing by and the temperature here in Phoenix is going up! I’ve already had to turn my air conditioner on and it’s only the end of April! But, when it’s hot outside, I’m cool in my studio and creating.
I started off with a gessoed journal page, added layers of Americana Acrylic paint and a piece of paper with a damask pattern. This paper is actually a bag that I tore and use for ephemera, never let anything go to waste!
On my recent shopping trip to CraftFusion I purchased this texture paste that is copper crackle from Finnabair’s Art ExtraVagance line. When I first opened it I could tell it had separated some, but a quick mix with my palette knife and it was a smooth shiny paste. For this page I used it with a circles stencil to represent the sun.
I love the Alphabet Spaghetti stencil from Andy Skinner! It creates a great background. And you know I can’t do a landscape without using bubble wrap and Buttermilk White for the sky.
I painted the flowers with American Acrylics and the doodling with my Fudeball pen.
The copper crackle looks great too!
The final work will be scanned and the May calendar will be added. I hope you like it as much as I do.
The calendar is only available to my newsletter subscribers, so make sure you sign up and download your free copy!
