My Vintage Breakfast Nook

Today I have a little bit different post for you.  If you’ve been visiting with me for a while, you know my love for vintage and thrift store treasures.  Recently I updated my breakfast nook with a new corner hutch and displays.

This wonderful hutch was a raffle win from an incredible little shop here in Gilbert, AZ, called My Front Porch.  I had been looking at it for a while and was so happy when I won the raffle!  I was looking for a hoosier style hutch to place in my breakfast nook to hold my growing collection of milk glass and other dishes and this fit perfectly.

I can display it with the bottom doors open or closed, and there’s still plenty of room to add more to my collections. This is actually a small portion of my dishes, I have a large china hutch in my front room that holds even more.  I plan on painting that one, so stay tuned for an update on that room.

I also did a different display for some vintage trays that I had on a shelf. I had been wanting to hang them on the wall, but how do you hang trays?

I found these fantastic Flatirons Disc Adhesive hangers that come in various sizes and are so much better than the plate hangers where you can see the wires. You activate the adhesive with warm water and rub with fingers, wait about 2 minutes and then adhere to back of tray, plate or picture.  They don’t damage the item and when you want to remove them, simply run warm water on it to loosen the adhesive and then peel off.

I love how they look now and this wall is definitely big enough to add more trays!

Like every room in my home, this one is a work in progress, but I’m very pleased with how it’s coming along.  But, if you would like to see some home decor posts I’ve done previously, simply click here.

I hope you enjoyed a little peek into my home and my passion of thrifting.  I’ll be sharing more soon, so stay tuned for more updates!

I dig it. It looks like it was just made for the room. I also like all the colors. I am having a link up over at my blog if you would like to join. I think some of my readers would love to see what you did here. Have a great weekend.

Carmen, that hutch looks like it was made for that corner. You have a beautiful collection, and they look perfect there. I’m drooling over your couple pieces of jadite. I also love the trays. The color of the top one is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
