I was so happy to have an East facing balcony in my new apartment because my plants would grow so much better. But, the Arizona sun in the summer can be so harsh even in the morning hours.
On extreme heat days the temperature can be 100 degrees by 11:00 am! And that was burning and killing some of my succulents.
I did have a small umbrella that I use for my really tender succulents, lithops and ripsalis plants.
But, recently Abba Patio reached out to me and introduced their 7.5 foot patio umbrella that can tilt. It was just in time for the extreme temperatures of over 105 degrees.
It came really well packed, but easy to get out and assemble. My daughter and I put the stand and umbrella up within a few minutes. They do supply one allen wrench and that’s all you need, other than water for the base.
For extra stabilization you can add water to the base and it will make it 50 lbs. This will definitely keep the umbrella in place during those Arizona monsoons.
The base is made of recycled plastic bottles so it’s very eco friendly and the pole is powder coated so it won’t rust and will last for years.
With the tilting option, I can angle the umbrella as I needed it and my plants will get as much or as little sun as they need. It’s also the perfect size for my balcony. There’s still plenty of room to move it around or to place a table and chairs underneath.
Thank you so much Abba Patio for sending me this wonderful umbrella and stand for my balcony. As a special offer to my readers and subscribers, they are offering a 15% discount with code CARMEN15 on their website Abba Patio. They also have a section on greenhouses too that you may want to check out.
They also have items available on Amazon, which if you have Amazon Prime you could get free shipping on some of them. But, the coupon code of 15% off is not valid on Amazon, only on the Abba Patio site.
Thanks so much for visiting today friends and I hope you come again soon!
