Lately I’ve been follow Tracy Verdugo and her worldly adventures as she teaches her Paint Mojo workshops. She has really inspired me to try some new techniques and I definitely plan on taking her ecourse of Paint Mojo when it starts in September. But, here is what I’ve been up to lately…
This technique is layers of designs and paints. I used many of my Crafter’s Workshop stencils and DecoArt Americana Acrylics, but also freehand designs to create a vibrant page. I then drew images of a bird, blossoms or butterflies with my Molotow white marker. I painted the negative space around the images with different colors. I used a very wet brush with these acrylic paints to create a very translucent layer. I really loved the layer beneath and I wanted it to still peak through some how.
I also used my DecoArt Media Line mister in white to create the drips. I unscrewed the nozzle and ran the end along some of the white marker, this created a wonderful drip effect.
I’m loving how these first art journal pages came out and I’m definitely going to create more and eventually on canvases. So, stay tuned my friends!
