In the last few weeks I’ve shared with you on my blog and social media, two of my creative passions; watercolor floral art and brush lettering. So, now I’ve combined the two in these original watercolor cards.
I wanted to create cards that were a little piece of original art that could be kept for years and even framed as wall art. The wonderful Spring weather definitely has me in a flower mood and I tried to capture that in each card. With the upcoming Mother’s Day holiday I hand lettered a greeting on each of them.
The supplies I used to get started were Strathmore Mixed Media cards that take wet medium beautifully and little warping. I found a beginner package of Tombow Brush Lettering kit with several markers, even a pencil and eraser for sketching a phrase before using a marker.
The watercolors I use are Reeves and I’ve always get vibrant colors and smooth application.
Leaves and botanical themes are very popular right now too…
I do plan on creating and uploading more cards to my shop in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for that.
Are there any particular flowers that you would like to see created?
Thanks so much friends for visiting today!
