So much inspiration on blogs and Pinterest this time of year, it’s almost overwhelming! But, when I see a project that has a vintage feel to it and includes some decoupage, I’m all over it. These little paper and lace pumpkins were the perfect addition to my dining room table and my new Autumn display.
I started with these 3 plastic pumpkins I picked up at Walmart. I wanted to cover them with sheet music and book pages.
I painted them first with ivory acrylic paint to tone down the orange underneath. I also painted the little stems black so they would match the printing on the papers.
Once the paint was dry I started decoupaging the small strips of paper. This is a messy job as you can see. The pumpkins have grooves in them so I had to rub the papers down and make sure there were no lifted areas.
I used book pages from an old readers digest book on this one.
I let them dry for a couple of hours.
Now for some embellishments. I have a box full of trims and pieces of lace. I decided to keep the black and white theme with the black paper flowers and strips lace.
Here is the beginning of my dining room table fall decorating. I was inspired by Debbie over at Confessions of a Plate Addict and her blue and white dinnerware combination with Fall decor. Stay tuned for more pics as I continue decorating.
