She Was Authentic Watercolor Art

With Spring arriving already here in Phoenix, I’ve been playing more with my watercolors and sketching.  Lately I’ve really been inspired by Tamara Laporte of Willowing.  She has a wonderful way of creating whimsical girls and scenes, I love it!

I created this piece in my Strathmore 140 lb watercolor sketch pad (which I need a new one because I just used up the last page!).  I added the colors with Caran D’ache classic neocolor crayons.  I enjoy using these because I can put them all in a cup and use them with my  Pental water brushes while sitting watching TV.

Here are some other girls I created while practicing…

I scanned my version of the whimsical girl and owl, then added some words of encouragement.  She’s now available in my shop as a print, mounted print or a canvas print.

This piece is perfect for a confirmation gift or even graduation.  I’ll be adding more watercolor pieces soon, so be on the look out for them!
