One of my favorite things to do is customize mixed media canvases for my customers. Adding elements that they love and speak to who they are. Especially now at Christmas time I meet people that are looking for a unique and personal gift.
This 12 x 12 mixed media canvas was commissioned by a wonderful lady I met at my last show. She wanted a piece for her teenage daughter and liked elements of 2 canvases I already had. So, we decided to combine them and create something special and unique for her daughter. We also added her favorite color (Teal) and made her hair Auburn like her daughter’s. I’m loving the way it came out and I hope her daughter does too.
This 9 x 12 canvas is one I made for my sister-in-law for a Christmas present. I used vintage Southern California maps (from 1962!) as the background. She currently lives in San Bernardino, Ca so this map was perfect. Then I added the 3 houses in vintage sheet music representing the 3 states her family lives in. Used a lot of stencils on this piece, which is my newest art obsession.
This is also a 9 x 12 canvas that I created for my oldest niece and her husband. They are a young family with a (almost) 3 year old boy and another boy due in March. I know I’m taking a chance in posting these before Christmas, but I couldn’t wait to share them with you! Hopefully they won’t see this post!
Finally friends, if you happen to see a canvas that you like and would like to customize one for yourself or as a present, please contact me and we can talk about the details.
