It’s our first week of the exciting Summer of Color sponsored by the lovely Kristin over at Twinkle, Twinkle Like a Star! For the first week we have been given the colors 1 blue + 1 blue + 1 green.
The colors I selected are Turquoise, Primary Cyan and Yellow Green. I have DecoArt Misters in these 3 colors and I love using them. I then selected hues in those colors in acrylic paints, misters and modeling paste.
I started my art journal page with a layer of gesso and then randomly applied Americana acrylic paint in Indian Turquoise, Whispering Turquouse, Victorian Blue and Blue Jean.
Once the background was dry, I started adding patterns and texture. I used modeling paste in Primary Cyan from Art-C with The Crafter’s Workshop stencil TCW549s for the rectangular shapes, TCW505 (Pebble Art) with Limeade and Margarita acrylic colors for the beginning of my girl. I love the Pebble Art stencil because it’s a 12′ x 12″ stencil with so many options. Across the top I spritzed the three different DecoArt Media Line Misters in Turquoise, Primary Cyan and Yellow Green. I love the drip effect!
The modern girl was created with a china marker pencil and Molotow white marker. I added some more hair with the Margarita paint and the Pebble Art stencil.
Here she is in all her blue and green glory!
It’s really satisfying at the end when you’re so please with the results, after looking at a blank page and wondering what the heck am I going to create!
I’ll be linking my post of at Twinkle, Twinkle Like a Star, so make sure and stop by to check out the other creations!
