Summer of Color – Week #6

This is week #6 and the final week of the Summer of Color challenge.  Kristin from Twinkle, Twinkle Like a Star has done a wonderful job in selecting creative and challenging color palettes for us to work with and I thank her for such an incredibly good job!

We’re finishing up with a really vibrant combination…

1 Orange + 1 Orange + 1 Blue

Here are some of the mediums I found in my stash…

I started the page with a layer of gesso and then spread with a palette knife the two shades of orange, Tangelo Orange and Light Orange.  I really like the abstract backgrounds the palette knife creates as opposed to a brush.  I also used Media Line’s Orange Mister with The Crafter’s Workshop Bokeh Fragments doodle stencil.

Desert Turquoise from American Acrylics is my favorite shade of blue and my first choice for this challenge.  I used The Crafter’s Workshop stencils TCW528 Daily Buzz, TCW505 Pebble Art, and TCW531s Mini Grow Page with this color and also mixed it with some modeling paste to give the page some texture.

This is definitely a minimalist, abstract art journal page.  I think the colors work great together.  Thanks so much again to Kristin for another successful Summer of Color and thanks to you for your support and always visiting with me.
