With Spring arriving already here in Phoenix, I’ve been playing more with my watercolors and sketching. Lately I’ve really been inspired by Tamara Laporte of Willowing. She has a wonderful way of creating whimsical girls and scenes, I love it!
Happy Valentine’s Day my friends! I hope you’re spending it with the ones you love and love you back. Today I’m sharing over on The Crafter’s Workshop blog a commission canvas I made this week for a very special little girl named Violeta that happens to love pink and purple!
It’s been a particularly cold and wet Winter here in Phoenix this year. Which is actually a welcomed change for me. I’ve been thinking of how much this rain will help my garden when it starts to bloom in the Spring. So, the timing is perfect for me to finish up my next commissioned piece in a series of Seasons. This Spring is Blooming Girl will be on her way to her new home soon, but let’s take a look at her creation…
The seasons are changing from Fall to Winter soon and I’m continuing my series of original canvases with this Winter Frost Girl Canvas. The Autumn Hues Girl found her home quickly after being finished and is now happily living in Tennessee. The collector loved her so much that she commissioned me to create a seasonal series of the same size and theme.
In the evenings I’ve taken to doing some practice sketching of faces. I try to capture different glances, head positions and types of girls. It’s a relaxing process for me and I feel that my faces are getting better.
Hi friends! I have a vibrant watercolor journal page to share with you today. This lovely girl started out with color pencils on a 140lb watercolor paper and then I added the watercolor crayons and paints.
Lately I’ve been coming across lots of Lotus flowers in mixed media and I really wanted to combine that lovely flower with one of my girls. My latest creation is a girl set in a meadow setting with lots of flowers around her.
