This is week #6 and the final week of the Summer of Color challenge. Kristin from Twinkle, Twinkle Like a Star has done a wonderful job in selecting creative and challenging color palettes for us to work with and I thank her for such an incredibly good job!
We’re finishing up with a really vibrant combination…
Our Summer of Color continues with week #4 and a combination that I’m not too accustomed to using. Red + Red + Metallic is the challenge for this week. I will admit I’m not a big metallic user, although I have metallic paints, markers and even pastes, I simply don’t use them on a regular basis. So, this week I’m excited to create something new and unique.
I’m continuing on with the Summer of Color challenge and we’re already at week #3! This week we’re going with a royal, or perhaps Mardi Gras look, with…
Purple + Purple + Yellow
I used the purple watercolor pencil to draw the face and then activated the color with a water brush. The rest of the page (140 lb. watercolor paper) was created with a mix of watercolor mediums. I really love the drip effect, it seems like she is behind a veil of tears.
Hope you enjoyed the page and I’m linking this to the Summer of Color challenge, and the Art Journal Journey. So stop by those blogs to check out some incredible talent.
On to week #2 of the Summer of Color challenge! I think we’re in for some vibrant color combinations this year and it’s going to make for lots of creativity. If you missed my post from last week, you can check it out here.
This week’s colors are 1 pink + 1 pink + 1 orange.
I used a combination of watercolor crayons, ink sprays and acrylic paint in my altered book art journal. The pattern in the background was created with spray ink and The Crafters Workshop stencil Rock Crystals TCW 522. The word Create is a pocket stencil from ArtistCellar, Creative Words, I mixed some modeling paste and acrylic paint to use.
I’m linking this post up to our host’s site over at Twinkle, Twinkle Like a Star. Stop on over and check out all of the other creations.
It’s our first week of the exciting Summer of Color sponsored by the lovely Kristin over at Twinkle, Twinkle Like a Star! For the first week we have been given the colors 1 blue + 1 blue + 1 green.
Last summer I participated in a wonderful weekly challenge called Summer of Color. It lasts for only 6 weeks and every week our hostess Kristin from Twinkle, Twinkle Like a Star, gives us a color palette to work with and you take it from there. You can see all of my creations from last Summer here.
Create whatever medium you want to use, art journal page, canvas, tag, ATC; and then share it on your blog or on Flickr. At the end of the week she’ll have a link up to share your creation. Oh, did I mention she also has weekly giveaways? Better yet, hop on over to her blog and check out all the details.
It’s the final entry for my Summer of Color with Kristin at Twinkle, Twinkle Like a Star. I can’t believe how fast these 6 weeks have flown by and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.
My Summer of Color continues and I can’t believe we only have 2 more weeks! I’ve had so much fun creating and meeting other artists through this great event. Kristin at Twinkle, Twinkle has done a wonderful job of organizing and selecting challenging color combinations, Kuddos to her!
This week I thought we would take a trip to the sea!
