Time for learning new techniques!

Here in Phoenix it’s already in the 90’s and it’s only April! So when the heat sets in I start thinking of hibernating from the heat, creating new work for the upcoming Fall show season and learning new techniques.  This year I’m taking advantage of some wonderful classes given by some incredible artist.

On April 12th I’ll be attending Carolyn Dube‘s class The Stenciled Journal at Tangie Baxter’s Artspiration Studio in Mesa, AZ.  I’m so looking forward to learning new stenciling techniques from her and making a journal in the process.
On May 9th I’ll be taking a class from the wonderful and incredible Dyan Reaveley!  The class is at The Frenzy Stamper in Scottsdale, AZ and the one I’m taking she will be sharing her techniques for creating incredible and professional looking backgrounds on tags.  At the end of the class I will have a Technique Tag Book! I love her line of Dylusions and her style.
Then in the middle of the summer (July 29 – August 5th) I will be attending a couple of classes at the annual Art Unraveled 2014.  I’m so lucky this event is here in Phoenix and it’s a week long of mixed media classes by some of the best artist and teachers in the world!  I’ve got my eye on classes by Mary Beth Shaw, Dina Wakley, Traci Bautista, and Chris Cozen.
So excited about all of these classes and the techniques I’ll be learning.  As an artist you never really stop learning.  Are you taking any classes this year? Tell me about them!
