Lately I’ve been creating watercolor flowers and playing with my watercolor pencils, crayons and paints. Here in Phoenix, Fall is like a second Spring for us. As temperatures drop and become mild again, it gives us an opportunity to plant some flowers.
Sunflowers are one of my favorite flowers because they are so easy to grow and come in so many varieties. I love to look through Pinterest at cottage gardens and their beauty. I love that whimsical look and the organized chaos that can happen when flowers grow wild.
Wildflowers in a vase are always lovely to bring the beauty inside.
Lupines are beautiful with their spires rising from the green foliage. They’re hard to grow here in Arizona, but definitely beautiful in a cottage garden setting.
A flurry of wildflowers captured in watercolor.
Purple coneflowers are a staple in a cottage garden and I tried to capture them in this watercolor. It’s also a glimpse of the September desktop calendar that I offer for free for those on my friends and collectors list. You can subscribe here for it and receive the calendar download for free.
Thanks so much for visiting with me today friends!
Blessings,

Sunflowers are just about my favorite flower–as are daisies of any kind. They seem so bright and happy and light up areas wherever they appear. 🙂
