“We’ll always have Paris”, that’s what Humphrey Bogart said to Ingrid Bergman in the movie Casa Blanca. It’s one of my favorite movies and it never gets old for me. That line and the scenes in Paris were the inspiration for my new canvas series. I started by creating this art journal page.

I wanted to capture the feel of old Paris, the fashion, the iconic landmarks, the cafes, the colors. From this page, I created these 4 canvases.
Here I used the DecoArt Americana Decor Stencil for the Cafe Paris words.
This canvas has layers of acrylic paint, a vintage sewing pattern tissue, distress inks, stencils and a dress form printable outlined with charcoal pencil.
Vintage postcards are the layers of collage for this canvas with an Eiffel Tower and 1920’s fashion model printable.
I used DecoArt’s Americana acrylics on all the canvases.
What do you think of my Paris Series? I really enjoyed creating these because the colors are some of my favorite and each canvas has a vintage feel to them. Prints of these canvases can be found in my shop.
Thanks so much for visiting with me today!

Hi Carmen! Your series of Parisian themed canvases are so elegant! I really enjoyed looking at each one and finding so many colors. Very exciting compositions, too! I really like how you placed text vertically and layered over it with the pattern tissue. Wonderful design elements at work 😉
Love all the Paris themes! I’m a big scrapbooker and I love the look of mixed media.
My daughter’s bedroom is all Paris – so these really speak to me!
thanks for sharing and Happy New Year!
