This is the latest piece in my Muse Collection of canvases. This whimsical angel muse is much softer in palette colors and I’m using more watercolors on the face.
I started with a gessoed 14″ x 18″ gallery wrapped canvas and layered it with acrylic paint in muted colors of blue, grey and burlap and some scripted tissue paper for some texture.
The next layer is with stencils to create some background foliage and also the beginning sketch of my angel.
I added soft flowers and foliage to the garden setting. Some of the flowers had some drippage from the paint, but I left them that way, I liked the effect.
The face was created with a combination of acrylic paint and watercolor crayons. I like the softer look it gives.
This wonderful piece is now available in my Shop. She would make a wonderful gift for a young lady as a graduation, confirmation or birthday present. If you would like to see other posts about My Muse Collection, click here. And remember, it’s always free shipping for my original canvases!
